Faculty Research

The Faculty of Education has a long established reputation for high quality, innovative research in a diverse range of educational contexts.  Its research vision is to make a difference to teaching and learning for students and teachers from early years through to tertiary settings, with its research strengths being reflected in the research networks.  Research in the Faculty is supported by the Wilf Malcolm Institute of Educational Research and a number of centres. WMIER is also responsible for the production of academic and professionally-focused publications.

We cater for students seeking a research qualification and welcome enquiries through the Centre for Postgraduate Studies.  Our Faculty staff are involved in national and international collaborative projects with educators and researchers and we encourage international academic colleagues to work with us.

Events that cater for  researchers, such as symposia, conferences and public lectures are often held at the Faculty.  These are listed on the University’s events calendar.

Faculty of Education staff have a wide range of experience and expertise in specialist areas. To find out more about research that people are doing you can carry out a staff search that will direct you to staff profile pages where you can find information about their teaching and research areas, and their contact details. Alternatively, The University’s Experts’ Files offer assistance in finding Faculty of Education staff who have expertise in particular areas.
