Our researchers are involved in national and international collaborative projects and publish widely. They are committed to making a difference to teaching and learning for students and teachers and also have expertise in areas such as educational leadership, counsellor education and sport and leisure studies.
In addition to receiving departmental support our institutes and centres support emerging and established researchers. Events that cater for researchers, such as symposia, conferences and public lectures are publicised on the University’s events calendar.
The Wilf Malcolm Institute of Educational Research has a history of successful research projects and reputable publications that contribute to the excellence of the research we provide. Research design is innovative and collaborative. Projects span the local, national and international education market. The Institute hosts symposia and seminars and publishes journals that disseminate research findings academic and professional audiences.
The Institute of Professional Learning provides high quality, research informed programmes of professional learning and development that contribute to improved professional practice in early childhood centres, kura, schools and tertiary institutions.
The Faculty also has a several centres which are involved in research.
