PGDip (Science Education)

The Postgraduate Diploma (Science Education) is for graduates interested in science or environmental education.This programme is particularly suitable for teachers wanting to improve their content and pedagogical content knowledge in these areas.

Science Education papers explore the current and past purposes and aims for Science Education, views of the nature of science, views of learning in Science Education, the nature of effective pedagogies for Science Education and current issues in science education. Students may also undertake a research project in the area of Science Education.

Bachelor of Teaching/Education OR
Bachelors degree plus a teaching qualification (e.g. GradDipT) OR
Bachelors degree plus the Graduate Diploma in Education

Programme Requirements

The PGDip(ScEd) comprises the equivalent of four (120 points) 500 level papers. This programme combines online learning, teaching and discussion and on-campus workshops and suits distance learners.
