Base Schools (BTchg MMP)

A base school is the primary school where you will undertake some of the practical teaching tasks required of your BTchg (MMP) programme. Usually you will choose a base school that you are familiar with or you can nominate a primary school, which is close to you. You will need to make contact with your selected base school prior to applying for the BTchg programme. You will need to ask the school to complete the Base School Form which is included in the Teacher Supplementary Form, indicating the school’s willingness to support you during your programme of study. If you are offered a place on the BTchg (MMP) programme you will then need to re-contact your nominated base school to confirm whether the school wants to be involved.

Note: It is not appropriate for a MMP student to be based in a school where another close family member is employed as this has potential for conflict.
