The use of digital tablets in facilitating student feedback on electronically submitted assignments

Project dates: 2007-2008
Director: John Williams

Project

This project determined the efficacy of using a graphics tablet to electronically ‘write’ comments on student submissions as a way of providing feedback. The tablet acts as an alternate computer screen on which comments and instructions can be written using an electronic pen and then returned to students. Focus group feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and confirmed the usefulness of the methodology. The strategy was consequently used more extensively in later papers.
