The focus of this group is Technology as a school curriculum area. Many countries have Technology Education as part of their core curriculum, and in New Zealand it is a subject at all school levels. It covers design and problem solving activities in areas such as food, textiles, CAD/CAM, hard materials, electronics and graphics.
This research group meets periodically to share research ideas, discuss and respond to current issues, develop research proposals, and update conference and journal information.
Research in this area covers elements such as the nature of technology, technological literacy, pedagogy, assessment, technology teacher training and learning in technology.
Doctoral students who are studying in the Centre and specialising in Technology Education are also members of this group.
